Micron Research Ltd, which is a participant in the European 7th Framework Heath Programme (FP7) is looking for potential Investigators who would be interested in participating in a clinical study in Complicated Skin and Skin Structure Infections (cSSSI) caused by Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
It is an open label, multi-centre, randomised controlled clinical study to compare antimicrobial treatment of MRSA in cSSSI with oral minocycline plus rifampicin to oral linezolid. Target recruitment is 225 patients across several centres in Europe.
This study is a part of AIDA Project (Preserving old antibiotics for the future: assessment of clinical efficacy by a pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic approach to optimise effectiveness and reduce resistance for off-patent antibiotics) that aims to answer the question of clinical effectiveness and optimal dosing of 5 off-patent antibiotics for infections caused by multiple drug resistant bacteria in three randomised controlled clinical trials.
If you are interested you can write to Antonio Leone: Clinical Study Manager (Antonio.leone@micron-research.com), who will be happy to provide you with all the details you require and answer any questions you might have.
