Medical Missions in Need of Dermatologists

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The International Foundation for Dermatology (IFD) has been approached by the Volunteer Coordinator for the Syrian-American Medical Society (SAMS). SAMS is a non-profit, non-political humanitarian organisation that provides medical education training and relief programmes in Syria and the surrounding countries hosting refugees.

SAMS provides critical medical services to refugees with the help and support of volunteer physicians from all over the world. Unfortunately, dermatology specialists are lacking in the regions where they are most needed. SAMS has an upcoming medical mission to Jordan scheduled for November and would gladly accept any dermatological volunteers.

The IFD would greatly appreciate your assistance with distributing information about SAMS and their upcoming missions to your members and colleagues. Any licensed dermatologists interested in attending a SAMS medical mission can read the attached document or visit www.sams-usa.net/medical-missions/ for more information or contact Yara Mowafy at medicalmissions@sams-usa.net with any questions. We would be grateful if interested dermatologists could mention that they heard about SAMS from the IFD.

Best wishes

Claire Fuller MA, FRCP

Chair of IFD
