It is our honour and pleasure to announce that the 13th Congress of the European Society will take place in Venice, Italy, from September 17th to September 22nd, 2009.
In an era of steadily growing interest in the psychosocial aspects of skin diseases, we are proud to be able to offer the extraordinary opportunity to enjoy the fabulous city of Venice as a backstage for will be a most successful and exciting congress.
The congress will be organised under the Auspices and with the Support of the Department of Dermatology of the University of Padua. The ESDaP Congress in Venice is due to take place immediately before the Congress of the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine, which will be organized in Turin, Italy, from September 23rd to 26th.
Do not miss this unique opportunity to attend two outstanding and stimulating meetings in Italy!
Plans for an exciting and stimulating congress are well advanced. In the programme there are features that will be familiar to colleagues having attended previous ESDaP Congresses and others that are new.
In addition to providing a forum for specialists to share the latest findings from their research we are keen to promote greater dialogue between people working in different disciplines and to provide opportunities for delegates to broaden their understanding of the connections between skin and psyche. The Congress will explore both clinical and scientific topics relevant to psychodermatologists.
We are planning a varied program which will include plenary sessions, presentation of research papers, as well as workshops and special interest sessions. We will offer a series of invited lectures as well as several courses.
In particular, we are pleased to be able to announce already a 2 days satellite course in Narrative Medicine which will run from Sunday, September 20th to Tuesday, September 22nd, as well as a course on Art and Observation to be held at the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, which is proven to foster diagnostic skills in physicians.
We hence hope to have developed a framework for what promises to be a memorable Congress. The scientific program is creative and currently evolving through collaboration between local and international experts. The content will be international in scope with a blend of national, regional and international speakers recognised for their academic and clinical achievements.
