È molto frequente purtroppo utilizzare indifferentemente i termini paesi tropicali e paesi in via di sviluppo, o addirittura il vecchio termine «terzo mondo», senza sapere invece, che oggi essi esprimono e sottendono valori e significati assai diversi.
