Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) and as its Honours and Awards Committee chair, I am pleased to announce the following EADV scholarship award, which interested young dermato-venereologists and residents/trainees can now apply/be proposed for John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship.

The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) offers the John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship to one selected applicant of each Southern European and Mediterranean country to facilitate the attendance of the 20th EADV Congress in Lisbon, Portugal 20-24 October, 2011.

Every scholarship provides free registration to the congress and consists of 1000 Euros minus the fee of a one-year EADV membership - according to the status of each recipient.

Criteria to be observed when applying/proposing a candidate for the John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship:

• Young dermato-venereologists or residents/trainees under 35 years of age
• Must not have previously received an EADV scholarship award
• Must have adequate knowledge of the English language

Required documentation below for application to be submitted in English only for the scholarship listed above:

• The completed Scholarship Application Form
• A CV and a list of publications (not more than 3 pages)
• A letter of support written either by the training director/head of department, hospital or clinic endorsing the application
• A letter of support written by a «specialist» EADV member endorsing the application
• A current copy of the applicant's training or specialist certificate
• A copy of an ID with a passport-size photo

The application form is available online. Complete applications shall not exceed 5MB and be submitted by 31 March, 2011 either by e-mail or fax in order to ensure a smooth evaluation and selection process.
