Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the skin-bearing terminal of hair follicles and apocrine glands whose diagnosis and staging are clinical.

Scores mainly rely on physical findings and although easily performed, lack information on disease severity. Ultrasound (US) aids in the diagnosis and assessment of HS disease severity.
